Description

This chapel from the beginning of the 16th Century shows, in the main façade, a Manueline portico with vegetal motives and, in the back façade, a tile panel in the shape of a cross dating from 1628. In the nave, the 17th Century polychrome carpet-like tiles and figurative tiles depicting saints (two of these panels constitute false collateral altarpieces with the respective altar front panels) are notable, as well as the 18th Century white and blue tile panels portraying historical episodes, in the chancel. In this small, but rich temple, the stone altarpiece with inlays of the main-altar and the 18th Century paintings of the ceiling are also noteworthy.
