Description

The Hermitage of the Three Magi was built on this site in the 16th Century; it has been almost entirely destroyed by the 1755 earthquake and was then rebuilt from 1778 onwards, through successive renovation works that have given the church its current configuration. The gilded and polychrome wood carved altarpiece of the chancel follows a Neoclassical style, containing a painting with the representation of the Adoration of the Magi; in each one of the side walls of the chancel, a painting framed by decorative stucco can be seen. Over the triumphal arch, there is the royal coat of arms of King Luis I. The 16th Century wayside cross next to the church is also noteworthy.
