The church of Saint Maximilian Kolbe was built to serve the Catholic community of Chelas, and entrusted to the Friars Minor Conventual since 1983. Having been dedicated ten years later, the church features the Franciscan detachment to follow Jesus Christ, giving fruits of love, such as the life of this 20th Century Franciscan who died in Auschwitz to save the father of a family.
