Description

Built in 1517, within the limits of the enclosure of the Monastery of Jerónimos, the church was one of the hermitages built at that time for the use of the monks. In Manueline style, it shows a quadrangular plan, with pinnacles and gargoyles in the four outside edges. The interior of the church is covered by a multi-ribbed vault and a quadrilobed triumphal arch of the chancel with vegetal motives. The front panel of the altar is made of 16th Century Hispano-Arabian tiles.
