The first chapel devoted to Our Lady of Victory was founded in 1556 by the Brotherhood of this same invocation, close to the former Hospital of Saint Anne. After being destroyed by the 1755 earthquake, the rebuilding works started in 1765 and only ended in 1824. The statue of Our Lady of Victory, dating from 1769, is attributed to Machado de Castro.
